Here's a better candidate, Paul Chadha:

Paul attended Proviso East High School, raised by a single mom who was a nurse at the local veterans' hospital; served as Chair of the Board of Streetwise ( http://www.streetwise.org/ ) and has been endorsed by its founder; serves as the President of the Awassa Children's Project, an organization that supports an orphanage for children orphaned by AIDS in Africa ( www.awassachildrensproject.org ); on a pro bono basis successfully obtained political asylum for two brothers from the Democratic Republic of Congo through the National Immigrant Justice Center ( http://www.immigrantjustice.org/ ); and, again on a pro bono basis, ushered Trap Door Theater through a difficult construction and zoning effort, just to name a few of the charities that Paul has been involved in.

Then you've got Kenny Johnson, who's backed by a political machine, $50k alone from Jesse Jackson Jr. -- check it out: http://www.elections.il.gov/CampaignDisclosure/ItemizedContrib.aspx

If you want someone who isn't beholden to any political patron, vote for Paul Chadha: www.paulchadha.com
